Antique large English earthenware pancheon dairy/dough bowl. Circa 1800’s. Made of solid clay with a yellow slip glaze interior. Pancheon bowls of this size were originally used for proofing dough while the smaller pancheon bowls were used for the seting of cream, in raw milk, for butter making. These bowls are becoming harder to find!
