Sometimes life changes in a drastic way that you never expected & for the past year my life has changed so much. I moved from Wisconsin to Pennsylvania! Never in a million years would I have thought Iโd live in a different state or that far away. Itโs been the most amazing & challenging time of my life. My dream come true. I stopped everything with the business to take a step back & just live life. I miss buying & selling antiques as well as photographing/styling everything! When you put your heart & soul into something you love so much that it becomes more of a chore than something enjoyable you end up cutting corners & not being your true self. Iโve struggled with that for years with my businesses. The constant pressure to thrive on social media is toxic if you let it become that way & I got my feelings hurt sometimes if I wasnโt as popular as others on there, but thatโs what happens when it sucks you in too far. Taking a long break makes you rethink your life & whatโs important which isnโt being in a popularity contest all the time. I want to start selling antiques again, but in a whole new way that will make it easier on me. I would like to make it more like an estate sale where Iโm not open all the time & just on certain days of the month. It makes it easier for me to photograph, list, & ship things if itโs not open all the time. I do all of this by myself! I miss the good ole days of no internet where your business just thrived from word of mouth & putting yourself out there face-to-face with people as well as physical papers in the mail/in stores via catalogs or brochures. This year Iโm starting to sell at flea markets, which Iโve always wanted to do, to put myself out there in a whole new & real way! I love seeing peopleโs faces when they find something they love & I donโt get to experience that online. I want to hear the stories of what people are going to do with their antiques & be able to share with them where I found them & what their original use was! Thatโs what Iโm missing are the interactions with people. I canโt wait to do that! Iโll be selling at the Hannahstown Flea Market in Hannahstown, PA; a living history museum. I will also be re-launching my website as a monthly estate sale where you can shop for a few days only. Be sure to follow me on Instagram where Iโll be sharing when the website will be available again! In the meantime, itโs open for people to buy antiques that are still on here until the re-launch starts!
